4 Directional Healing from PTSD Six Week Healing Program 4 Directional healing is based on the principles of 4 Directional Spirituality. Since time immemorial Indigenous people have always followed the 4 Directional Ways of Being. The number 4 is sacred and connected to all creation. The Circle of Life includes the 4 seasons, 4 medicines, 4 sacred elements, 4 stages in life, 4 cardinal directions, 4 races of humanity, 4 times of the day, and the 4 parts of a human being, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual. Their belief is that when one of the 4 quadrants (emotional, mental, physical, spiritual) is out of balance, your human being is out of balance. To regain a healthy balance one must go within to find the origin of what is causing the imbalance. 4 Directional Spirituality offers healing modalities, albeit unconventional, has proven effective with First Responders who have experienced the 4 Directional Healing from PTSD Program. At the end of the day we are all human first and foremost, trauma is trauma, spirit is spirit, and healing is healing. Trauma comes in various forms, types, stages, and affects everyone in different ways. In order for authentic healing to take place, an environment of safety, trust and non-judgment is critical. The world has forgotten to how to heal with spirit. Trauma has a “spirit” that needs to be recognized, honoured, and respected in order to be released through land based practices, teachings and ceremony that have been practised by the Indigenous since time immemorial. The 6 Week Day Program will allow the participants to go within their emotional, mental, physical and spiritual being to seek out and release the origin of their trauma through land based teachings, ceremony and a combination of western based methodologies. The sharing circle format gives the participant the ability to take ownership of their healing through a safe, non-judgmental environment. INTRODUCTION - WEEK 1 What is 4 Directional Ways of Knowing? PHYSICAL - WEEK 5 How has PTSD affected my physical being ?
